Behind ShawNova Arise is Cherquentia S. Crawford, professionally known as Que — a multidisciplinary creator, music producer, songwriter, and entrepreneur with more than two decades of experience in music and creative media.
Crawford has been involved in music since 2004, developing projects across songwriting, recording, production, engineering, and independent music distribution. Throughout her career, she has built and contributed to several creative ventures including CQ Productions, CQP Recording Studio, Ardent Records, and Tha Closet Studios LLC, each helping shape her foundation in music creation, multimedia production, and independent artistry.
In 2016, Crawford founded Tha Closet Studios as a creative platform dedicated to music, digital storytelling, branding, and multimedia content. The company later became Tha Closet Studios LLC, officially registered in the state of Texas in 2021.
Crawford studied at The Art Institute of Dallas, majoring in Interior Design with a minor in Video Production, a background that continues to influence her approach to visual aesthetics, creative direction, and multimedia design.
In 2026, Crawford was featured by Voyage Dallas in its “Rising Stars” series, highlighting her journey as an independent creative entrepreneur and her contributions to music, media, and innovative digital storytelling within the Dallas–Fort Worth creative community.
She is the creator and creative director behind ShawNova Arise, an AI-assisted digital music artist project that blends traditional songwriting and production with emerging vocal technology. Through ShawNova Arise and Tha Closet Studios, Crawford continues exploring new forms of digital artistry, storytelling, identity, and creative expression while pushing the boundaries of independent multimedia creation.
